Once again, it’s time for your Belfry Breakdown, brought to you by our friends at Thornhill Automotive.

Last week was a split one for the Belfry Lady Pirates, who finished 2-2 on the week. Belfry picked up a 59-51 win over Pike Central on Monday, then followed that up with an impressive 86-54 victory against East Ridge on Friday. The Lady Pirates did suffer a 52-29 loss to Betsy Layne in the 15th Region All-A Girls Regional Basketball Tournament and closed the week with a 77-56 loss to Floyd Central on Saturday.

On the boys side, it was a strong week for the Pirates, who went 3-1 overall. Belfry opened with a 73-52 win over Betsy Layne in the 15th Region All-A Boys Tournament, then added a 72-42 victory over Mingo Central and a tight 47-44 win against Scott County. The lone setback came in an 81-78 loss to Martin County in All-A Tournament action.
