LONDON, Ky. — A Floyd County woman is set to enter a guilty plea in a federal drug case, while her codefendant continues to consider a plea offer.

Stephanie Hall, 32, of Maytown, and Briana Hope Hunter, 31, of McDowell, were arrested in May of 2024, following a traffic stop. A state trooper pulled them over for excessive window tint, then found nearly half a pound of meth in their car.

Both were later indicted by a federal grand jury on a charge of conspiracy to distribute more than 50 grams of meth. That charge is punishable by a prison sentence of between 5-to-40 years.

Hall has now signed a plea agreement admitting to the charge. She is scheduled to appear in court on Friday to formalize her guilty plea.

Hunter had also been told a plea deal would be forthcoming, but in a filing last month, her attorney said she had not received it. If she is not offered a plea agreement or if she rejects one, she is scheduled to go on trial March 2.

Note: Story has been edited to correct that, as of Jan. 6, Hunter had been told a plea agreement would be forthcoming, but had not been received.
