Lonnie Maynard, 53, of Raccoon, was arrested Jan. 27 on 10 counts of possessing child porn. He was released from jail the following day, after posting a $10,000 property bond.

Friday evening, he was arrested once more, after federal prosecutors picked up the case.

An affidavit filed in the case outlines how Maynard came to authorities’ attention. It describes a child giving Maynard’s cell phone to a woman and telling her it contained child porn.

After the woman informed police, a digital review of the phone, as well as Maynard’s computer and iPad, turned up seven videos and 133 pictures of child porn, including some of two local children. They also contained 11 other images which the investigator said were likely AI-generated.

The review also discovered Snapchat conversations in which he shared pictures with them and described sexually abusing at least one child.

Maynard is now charged with single counts of producing and possessing child porn, but a grand jury will determine the exact charges he will ultimately face. He is currently being held without bond in the Pike County Detention Center.
