GRUNDY, Va. — Police are searching for two people in connection with a public sex act by the gas pumps of the Grundy Double Kwik.

The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office was initially called to the store on New Year’s Day regarding a report of a fight. As deputies drove to the store, they passed a vehicle matching the description of one used by some of the people involved in the fight.

The driver disregarded attempts to pull the vehicle over, resulting in a short chase that ended when the vehicle crashed and the occupants ran away.

When deputies got to the store, they learned that the occupants of the vehicle had engaged in sexual activity by the gas pumps, in full view of other customers, some of whom were under 18. Several of the witnesses recorded the activity on their phones.

Afterwards, the occupants got involved in an altercation with some of the bystanders.

After completing their investigation and gathering evidence, deputies have issued arrest warrants for Isaiah Matthew Fuller, 38, of South Boston, and Mildred Virginia Odell Pacheco, 47, of Danville. Both are charged with obscene sexual act in public and four counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, which are both misdemeanors.

In addition, Fuller faces felony charges of eluding law enforcement, leaving the scene of an accident and four counts of solicitation. He is also wanted for assault and battery and violation of a protective order in Halifax County.

Pacheco also faces a felony count of attempted malicious wounding.

The sheriff’s office says it is working with other law enforcement agencies to locate and arrest Fuller and Pacheco.

Police say they will have no further comment about the case.

The Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office investigation was assisted by the Virginia State Police, Grundy Police Department, Buchanan County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, Halifax County Sheriff’s Office and Pittsylvania County Sheriff’s Office.
