Beshear warns of gold scams

Frankfort, Ky: Attorney General Andy Beshear is warning Kentuckians to do their homework before investing in gold. Beshear says an Inez resident lost $475,000 and a Lexington resident lost $420,000 to a scammer who convinced them that they were investing in gold markets which would pay millions in returns. While there are legitimate investments in gold, Beshear warns residents to be wary of anyone offering huge profits with a quick turnaround. Residents can also research gold sellers by calling the Office of Consumer Protection at 888-432-9257.
