Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife officials are reminding anyone who wants to put his/her name in for the 2018 Kentucky Elk Hunt Drawing to do so today.  The deadline to enter the online lottery is midnight tonight, April 30th.  Kentucky’s elk herd is the biggest east of the Rocky Mountains and six of the 10 top ten record bulls have been harvested in the past three years.  That being said, hunters from across the country are expected to enter for one of the 700 permits that will be drawn for.  The random drawing will be held on May 15th and results will be posted online at midnight that night.

There is a $10 fee to enter for each type of permit, and hunters may enter a total of four times (once for each type).
