PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Two Pike County residents were arrested after a burned-out headlight led police to discover a large amount of drugs.

Shortly after midnight Wednesday morning, a state trooper spotted Christen Brown, 30, of Virgie, driving a GMC Sierra that was missing a headlight.

When the officer went to speak to Brown, he suspected him to be under the influence of something. After a field sobriety test, Brown was placed under arrest for suspicion of DUI.

A search of the car then turned up what police said was a large amount of meth, heroin and suboxone.

Both Brown and his passenger, Dericka Knott, 24, of Shelbiana, denied that the drugs were theirs.

Police also found Knott in possession of $500 in cash.

Both were arrested for trafficking in meth, heroin and suboxone, as well as other charges.
