Coal Run declares state of emergency

COAL RUN VILLAGE, Ky. — As Eastern Kentucky continues to recover from flash flooding earlier in the week, Coal Run Village has joined Pike County in declaring a state of emergency.

Mayor Andrew Scott issued the emergency declaration on Wednesday, noting that flooding had caused damages to roads, culverts, land, homes and other properties.

The state of emergency will last until rescinded by the mayor.

In a Facebook post, Mayor Scott asked members of the community to report damages to city hall at (606) 437-6032.
