FRANKFORT, Ky. — After seeing coronavirus cases in Kentucky soar to new heights in the weeks following the holidays, there are early indications that numbers could be trending down once again.
There were more than 9,400 cases reported over the weekend, which is nearly 3,000 fewer than last weekend. That brings the total to more than 326,000.
Eighty-five more Kentuckians have died, raising the death toll to 3,127.
About 1,600 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, including 410 in intensive care and 212 on ventilators.
The state’s positivity rate has also fallen, and is now 11.49 percent.
