Food, water, cleaning supplies offered to flood victims

BELFRY, Ky. — Food, water and cleaning supplies are being offered to victims of New Year’s Day flooding in Pike County

A truckload of the supplies was delivered to the Belfry Volunteer Fire Department Wednesday afternoon. The giveaway will end at 5 p.m. Wednesday and resume at 9 a.m. Thursday.

Anyone who was affected by flooding is welcome to stop by the fire department to get some of the supplies.

The supplies were donated by the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief Fund out of Nashville, Tenn.

Big Creek Fire Department also has a truckload of supplies for flood victims. Officials with that department say they plan to hand out supplies until 10 p.m. Wednesday and continue each day until the inventory is exhausted.
