DELBARTON, W.Va. — The Mingo County Sheriff’s Office reports that one person is dead and others were injured, following a two-vehicle crash involving a school bus Tuesday morning.

It happened around 7 a.m. on King Coal Highway, near Mingo Central High School.

In a Facebook post, the sheriff’s office says the accident involved a truck and a school bus. The post goes on to say that the driver of the truck was killed in the crash.

The Mingo County Board of Education confirmed that there were students on the bus at the time of the crash.

“Seven students and the bus driver were taken to the hospital to be evaluated for non-life-threatening injuries,” the board announced in a Facebook post. “Parents of the students have been notified.”
