Elkhorn City to host “Pop-up Restaurant Fundraiser” to fund 2021 fireworks

ELKHORN CITY, Ky. (MTN) — An inaugural “Pop-up Restaurant Fundraiser” will take place on Saturday, July 25 in Elkhorn City, Kentucky to help fund the city’s firework display for July 4, 2021.

According to a Facebook post from Steven Taylor, a resident of Elkhorn City, this event will take place at the Elkhorn City Community Center, but due to COVID-19 restrictions, take-out is the only option available.

Taylor says menu options include pulled pork BBQ sandwiches for $6.00 and you can add baked beans and coleslaw as a dinner box for $10.00. Soft drinks and water will be available for $1.00.

“If this goes well we will have more pop-up fundraiser dinners in the future with menus other than BBQ to offer the people of Elkhorn City and our weekend visitors a variety of dining options,” states Taylor.

The event is set to start at 6:00 PM and will end when supplies run out. Dinners will be provided on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The post continues to say that pre-orders will not be taken as they will be busy boxing/selling and will not have time to take phone calls or check messages.
