SALYERSVILLE, Ky. — Deputies investigating reports of possible drug activity in Magoffin County came away with three arrests early Wednesday morning.
The officers were at Bloomington Loop just before 4 a.m. Wednesday, after receiving reports of heavy traffic in the area, when they spotted a silver car go past at a high rate of speed.
The deputies found the car parked at a home and spoke to two people inside. They told police that Heather McKinney, 37, of Salyersville, had been driving and had gone inside the house. McKinney soon came out, but then fled back inside as soon as she spotted the officers. She was soon caught and arrested for four active bench warrants.
She also earned new charges of fleeing police, evidence tampering and meth possession, after police allegedly caught her trying to dispose of a small amount of the drug when they caught her. Things got even more serious when she got to jail and guards found 22 grams of meth hidden in her bra, earning her a meth trafficking charge.
When police searched the car, they found meth, marijuana and a set of scales in a shaving kit reportedly belonging to Kevin Tucker, 64, of Berry. He was arrested and charged with meth and marijuana trafficking and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Another man in the car was also arrested for a misdemeanor paraphernalia charge when police found syringes, tourniquets and scales in his bag.
All three were booked in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville.
