LOGAN, W.Va. — Mother Nature helped a Logan County sheriff’s deputy locate a suspect who ran away from a traffic stop.
The deputy pulled over a pickup truck for having no brake lights. After the truck was pulled over, a passenger — later identified as 33-year-old Jody Adkins — jumped out and ran away.
The officer followed Adkins into a trailer, but was told by the occupants that he ran out the back door. That’s when the deputy spotted footprints in the snow, which he followed to another home, where he found Adkins hiding in a closet.
Adkins was arrested and charged with fleeing police and obstructing an officer, as well as an active warrant out of Logan Circuit Court.
