Documenting Flood Damage

Magoffin County, KY. — Local authorities are putting together their disaster data for the State and Federal agencies. According to Magoffin County Judge Executive Matt Wireman, counties that were affected by the recent flooding event, are preparing documentation for damage to seek a federal disaster declaration. Once the documentation is gathered, and a presidential declaration of emergency is made, the Federal Emergency Management Agency will come in. Judge Wireman urges residents to take pictures of all damages prior to any repairs and keep all receipts. Residents of Magoffin County can call damage reports in to the Judge Executive’s office at 606-349-2313.
