ROGERSVILLE, Tenn. — Two men who walked away from the Southwest Virginia Regional Jail in Abingdon were recaptured on Friday.

Federal inmate Johnny Shane Brown, 51, of Rogersville, Tenn., and double murderer Albert Lee Ricketson, 31, of Abingdon, Va., were arrested in Rogersville, one day after they walked away from a jail recreation area.

A large group of local, state and federal officers scoured Virginia and Tennessee for the men following their escape. Friday morning, authorities found a stolen car they were believed to have used to flee in Bulls Gap, Tenn.

Not long after, Brown and Ricketson were found hiding in the loft of a barn on Cupp Hollow Road, in Rogersville, four miles away from where the stolen car was found.

The two men are now being held without bond in separate jails in Tennessee.
