PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — What Mayor Les Stapleton describes as a “major water line break” Friday morning in downtown Prestonsburg has filled the streets with water, leading to road and business closings.

The affected area is at the intersection of Court Street and Arnold Avenue.

Stapleton said in a Facebook post that the city is redirecting traffic away from the area. Mountain Top News has also learned that several downtown businesses have had to close this morning, due to the break.

Mountain Top News has a reporter heading to the scene and will update you with more information as it becomes available.
