PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — A Prestonsburg firefighter was arrested Wednesday, after police say he was driving an ambulance while drunk.

Prestonsburg Police were called to fire station number 2 just after 8:30 Wednesday morning over a report of an intoxicated employee. That employee — identified as Clarence Davis, 56, of Prestonsburg — was given a breathalyzer, which came back at 0.126, which is one-and-a-half times the legal limit.

The police report notes that Davis had been driving an ambulance that morning, and there is video evidence of him driving it while under the influence.

Davis was arrested and charged with DUI.

Prestonsburg Mayor Les Stapleton and Fire Chief Mike Brown said they could not comment on the matter because it is a personnel matter and the investigation is ongoing.
