Floyd man arrested for first-degree arson

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — A Floyd County man has been arrested on a charge of arson.

Jeremy Evan Coleman, 29, of Allen, was arrested Wednesday for an incident that allegedly took place Jan. 22. The arrest warrant accuses him of setting fire to a building, when he knew that a family was inside.

First-degree arson is punishable by a sentence of 20 years-to-life in prison.

Coleman is scheduled to appear in court next Wednesday for his arraignment and preliminary hearing.
