PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — A Prestonsburg man was arrested and his children were turned over to Social Services after a minor traffic stop escalated into a drug trafficking case.

A Prestonsburg Police officer pulled over Russell Craft, 24, for having a tail light out. But during the stop, police discovered bags of heroin and fentanyl, and a bag of syringes was found in the back floor, beneath the feet of Craft’s 1- and 2-year-old children.

Craft was arrested and charged with aggravated drug trafficking, endangering the welfare of a minor, persistent felony offender and numerous traffic violations.
