PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Floyd County man has been charged with rape, after police say they caught him with a 12-year-old.
A Pikeville Police officer was sent to the parking garage just before 1:30 Tuesday morning over a loud music complaint, and found it coming from a GMC pickup parked on the top floor of the garage. Upon investigation, the officer allegedly found 18-year-old John Douglas Tackett, of Printer, in the bed of the truck with the girl.
After discovering the girl was 12 years old, the officer said Tackett claimed he thought she was 16, but the girl countered that he knew her age.
Tackett was booked in the Pike County jail on a charge of second-degree rape.
