GRUNDY, Va. — The search for a missing Buchanan County man has come to a tragic conclusion.

Jonathan Kelly, 36, of Whitewood, went missing late last month. His family reported his disappearance to police, saying that they feared for his safety because had had recently made comments about harming himself.

On Sunday, the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office reported that his body had been found in a wooded area between Compton Mountain Road and Slate Creek.

The cause of death is being investigated.
