PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — A Floyd County man has been arrested on a receiving stolen property charge, nearly four years after a box of jewelry was stolen.
The victim reported to police that his mother’s jewelry box was stolen from his home, while he was out of town at a funeral back in November of 2021. The jewelry inside the box was valued at about $3,000, according to the arrest warrant.
Okie Douglas Boyd, 36, of Banner, came under suspicion when he allegedly tried to sell the jewelry to another person who recognized it and took pictures of it.
Boyd has been charged with receiving stolen property over $1,000, a felony punishable by 1-to-5 years in prison.
