GARRETT, Ky. — A Floyd County man who was arrested back in August is now facing drug and gun charges in federal court.
Justin Slone, 45, of Garrett, was indicted Thursday on charges of possession of meth with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and three counts of possessing unregistered silencers. The drug charge is the most serious, carrying a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison if he is convicted.
When he was arrested Aug. 9, sheriff’s deputies, state troopers and U.S. marshals seized nine firearms, three silencers and a small amount of meth that was mixed in with ammunition.
Slone was previously convicted of drug charges back in 2022. He is also currently under indictment in Floyd County on five counts of drug trafficking charges and two counts of felon in possession of a firearm.
Slone is currently being held in the Floyd County Detention Center. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance Oct. 18.
