PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Floyd County man has been sentenced to more than 27 years in prison for federal charges related to armed meth trafficking.

Joshua Vajda, 35, of Harold, pleaded guilty back in February to charges of possession of more than 500 grams of meth with the intent to distribute and using a firearm in a drug trafficking crime. In exchange for his plea, prosecutors agreed to drop two other charges for distributing meth and felon in possession of a firearm.
In his plea agreement, he admitted to selling an ounce of meth to an undercover informant last August. When police raided his home in September, they found 565 grams of meth, six guns and over 4-thousand dollars in cash.
Last week, a judge sentenced Vajda to 270 months for the drug charge and 60 months for the gun charge, for a total of 330 months. He is currently being held in the Pike County jail, awaiting transfer to the federal prison system.
