BANNER, Ky. — A Floyd County woman was arrested after police say she pointed a gun at six people, including three children, and threatened to kill all of them.
The incident happened on Big Branch Hollow Road, at Banner, where police had already been earlier in response to a domestic violence complaint. During that initial trip, one person was taken to jail.
Shortly after 8 p.m., witnesses told police that Tara Newsome, 32, of Hi Hat, showed up, pulled a gun, told them they had made a huge mistake, and allegedly threatened to kill everybody.
Police caught up with Newsome about an hour later, when she wrecked her car while allegedly trying to get away from police.
Newsome was arrested and charged with six counts of wanton endangerment, a felony punishable by 1-to-5 years in prison. She is expected to appear in court later this week.
