PIKEVILLE, Ky. — Kelsey Friend Jr., a prominent Eastern Kentucky attorney who served Pike County as district judge and state representative, has died.

Lucas & Son Funeral Home announced that he died at Pikeville Medical Center on Wednesday. Arrangements are incomplete, but the funeral home said a full obituary would be released later today.

Kelsey Friend Jr. was 77 years old.
