Since retail workers have been on the frontlines even before this pandemic began, Walmart plans to pay out another cash bonus for all U.S. full-time and part-time hourly associates, including Sam’s Club.
Walmart officials announced Tuesday that the bonus will be equal to the first bonus announced in March of $300 for full-time and $150 for part-time hourly and temporary employees.
This will include hourly associates in stores, drivers, clubs, supply chains and offices, and assistant managers who worked amid the increasing customer demand for food and essentials since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
The new bonus is expected to be paid on June 25, Bentonville, Arkansas-based Walmart said and workers must be employed as of June 5th to qualify.
“Walmart and Sam’s Club associates continue to do remarkable work, and it’s important we reward and appreciate them,” Walmart U.S. President and CEO John Furner said in a statement.
