GIRLS SOCCER: Lady Eagles Advance to 15th Region Championship with 5-3 Win

The Johnson Central Lady Eagles punched their ticket to the 15th Region Championship after a 5-3 victory over Lawrence County in girls soccer action Monday night.

Sophomore Lily Jarrell led the offensive charge with two goals, while senior Lauren Arrowood added a goal and two assists. Callie Davis and Karlea Stanley also found the back of the net, and Bayle Murphy and Josie Dials contributed assists.

Goalkeeper Greta Lewandoski made five saves, allowing three goals in the win.

For Lawrence County, sophomore Paula Corominas scored one goal and added two assists, while Addison Howard and Harper Cline each scored a goal. Defensively, Emalynn Kitts had a standout performance, stopping 25 shots on goal but still falling short.

The victory improves Johnson Central to 19-2 on the season. Lawrence County finishes at 10-8-1.

Johnson Central will now face Martin County in the 15th Region Championship on Thursday, October 16, with kickoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
