Health Officials confirm 5th positive COVID-19 case in Mingo County, WV

The fifth positive case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in Mingo County, West Virginia on Wednesday, May 27th.

According to a release from the Mingo County Health Department, the confirmed patient is a 73-year-old male who has been hospitalized and is symptomatic.

The release says that the health department is notifying all who may have come in contact with this patient.

Mingo County has tested a total of 673 people, 5 who have been confirmed positive for the coronavirus, 1 probable case and 667 negative cases. Two of these positive cases have since recovered and the county has one COVID-19 related death.

The Health Department is asking the community to continue to practice social distancing, wear face coverings, if possible, and obey all of the Governor’s Executive Orders.
