HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL: Pirates drop road game at Central

Belfry went into Louisville on a night Central football renamed its field in honor of their late coach Ty Scroggins.

The emotional Yellow Jackets started quickly and never let up in rolling to a 37-6 win in a game played on Friday night.

Belfry, now 0-4, lost on Central’s home turf for the second time in a battle of teams who dominated Class 3A football over the past two decades.

Pirate back Isaac Dixon scored on a 49-yard run in the third period to account for Belfry’s only points. He carried 20 times for 117 yards. Dre Young added 55 yards on seven carries.
