Possible human remains found in car pulled from Dewey Lake

PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — Possible human remains found in a car pulled from Dewey Lake at Jenny Wiley State Resort Park have been sent to the state medical examiner’s office.

The car was discovered on Friday, and a Lexington dive team, the Department of Fish and Wildlife, and Kentucky State Police worked to remove it from the water. Now investigators are working to determine the identity of the victim.

There is no word on how old the remains are.

Kentucky State Police Detective Tony Tackett is handling the investigation.
