Rogers begins 21st consecutive term

U.S. Rep. Hal Rogers

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Forty years after first taking the oath of office as a freshman representative, Congressman Hal Rogers was sworn in for his 21st consecutive term on Sunday.

Rogers says while 2020 was a challenging year, he believes 2021 is getting off to a good start, with new vaccines to tackle the coronavirus pandemic and new funding for programs to build a stronger Appalachia.

Later this year, Rogers will become Kentucky’s longest serving federal official.
