PRESTONSBURG, Ky. — A man accused of trying to deliver drugs to inmates in the Floyd County jail found himself locked up inside the building instead.

Jail security cameras had captured a man passing drugs into the jail through holes in the outside walls several times over the past few months, and the jail got a tip that he would be returning. Staff members monitored security cameras closely and patrolled outside the building waiting for him to return, when he was spotted Friday night.
Deputy jailers alerted Prestonsburg Police, who arrested Adron Burchett, 33, of Ivel. When searching his car, police found five straws filled with fentanyl taped together.
Burchett was charged with fentanyl trafficking, possession of drug paraphernalia, persistent felony offender and multiple traffic violations. He was also served with additional arrest warrants for promoting contraband, meth possession and trespassing for the previous trips to the jail.
