PAINTSVILLE, Ky. — A Paintsville man ended up in jail, after police say he threatened firefighters who were trying to extinguish a fire.
It happened on Tuesday evening along Mill Street, near the home of 39-year-old David Stambaugh. The firefighters were working to contain a small brush fire on a steep hillside, which broke out after Stambaugh said he tossed a lit cigarette out of his window.
Police say Stambaugh threatened and cursed firefighters while they tried to do their jobs.
He was arrested and charged with obstructing governmental operations, public intoxication, criminal mischief and terroristic threatening.
