KSP offer tips for holiday travel

tips_2KSP Post 9–With the hustle and bustle of the Thanksgiving Holiday and Black Friday there will be a significant amount of traffic on the highways and officials with the Kentucky State Police say there are a few things you can do to ensure everyone has a safe holiday.

“Now that it is the holiday season traffic has increased and it is also becoming winter. We have had a lot of wrecks because of the black ice on the highway. People should allow a little extra time to get where they are going, especially going to work. I know when shopping you get into a big hurry to get to the big sales, but you want to make sure that you get there so you need to slow down and watch the traffic conditions. Especially with the traffic conditions you need to keep the air checked in the tires, be sure you do have good tread on the tires. A good tire tread will help prevent hydroplaning on the wet roads and on the slick roads to an extent. If you have bald tires you will be more apt to have an accident in the water and on the ice.”

Trooper Petry went on to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season.
