The Pike Central Lady Hawks earned a big win at home last night, knocking off Martin County 3-1 on the volleyball court.
Pike Central took the match with set scores of 25-22, 25-17, 22-25, 25-17.
The victory pushed the Lady Hawks to 7-5 on the season, while the Lady Cardinals slipped to 3-4.
Next up, Pike Central travels to East Ridge for a 7:30 p.m. matchup Tuesday. Martin County will be on the road at June Buchanan on Wednesday, with first serve set for 6 p.m.
Around the region Monday, Betsy Layne blanked Prestonsburg 3-0, Shelby Valley rolled past Pikeville 3-0, and Letcher Central handled Cordia 3-0 and Johnson Central beat Belfry 3-2.
Scores from Floyd Central-Paintsville were not reported at press time.
