NEON, Ky. — A Letcher County man was arrested on Sunday, after police say he attacked a gas station with a baseball bat.

A state trooper was dispatched Sunday morning to the BP gas station in Neon, over a report that a man was breaking windows of the business with a bat. When the officer arrived, he reported finding Harlan Collins, 24, of Neon, still in the act of smashing the windows of the garage doors.

When the trooper told him to stop, he said Collins began walking toward a nearby grocery store, then tossed the bat and began running. He was stopped with a taser.

Collins is now charged with criminal mischief, fleeing police, resisting arrest and menacing.
