COVID closes Knott County Schools

HINDMAN, Ky. — Knott County schools will be closed for the rest of the week, due to the coronavirus.

Supt. Brent Hoover made that announcement Tuesday evening on the school district’s Facebook page.

In his post, Hoover said the decision was made to mitigate the further spread of COVID-19. The closure also shuts down all extracurricular activities, school-sponsored events and practices.

The district’s COVID dashboard shows the system currently has 36 students and two staff members with active cases, along with 79 quarantine contacts.
