The Levitt Amp Whitesburg Music Series is well into the second half of its schedule of free concerts in downtown Whitesburg, and the most recent show offered something unique for Eastern Kentucky.
Musicians with the Lexington Philharmonic String Quartet performed before a crowd of more than 500 people, which now stands as the largest crowd of any of the shows so far in the Whitesburg concert series. Organizers were thrilled with the reception Thursday’s performers received, and they believe the large crowds seen at this season’s shows could help Whitesburg win the concert series again next year.
Three shows remain in the 2018 Levitt Amp Whitesburg Concert Series.
Next Thursday, Laid Back Country Picker opens up for Drivin’ N Cryin’. On July 26, Bek and the Starlight Revue open for Tee Dee Young, and the series concludes August 2 with Wayne Graham opening for headliner Nicholas Jamerson.
All shows are free to the public.
