Man arrested for impersonating officer in Logan County

fakecopLOGAN, W.Va. — A man wanted in Tennessee was arrested in Logan County Wednesday for impersonating a police officer. According to police, 54-year-old Terry Michael Vickers sought medical treatment at Logan Regional Medical Center. He allegedly told officials he sustained the injury during attempts to catch a wanted person in Chapmanville. Vickers was allegedly dressed in clothing that resembled a police officer and had a patch identifying him as a lieutenant. After using a false identity to get treatment and a prescription, he later fled the hospital. After police caught up to him, Logan County Sheriff’s Deputies say Vickers exited the vehicle waving his hands aggressively. It was then discovered he was wanted from the state of Tennessee for two counts of criminal impersonation, obtaining prescription by fraud, and other charges. He was arrested Wednesday for DUI, obstructing an officer, impersonating an officer, obtaining prescription by fraud, and a fugitive from justice. Terry Vickers is currently lodged in the Southwestern Regional Jail in Holden awaiting arraignment.
