A Floyd County man was arrested last night after a 9-1-1 call, reporting someone breaking into a food pantry in the Virgie community of Pike County.

When Troopers responded, they found 35 year old Jessie Tackett of Melvin attempting to flee the building.

According to the arrest citation, Tackett kicked Troopers as they were trying to take him into custody. Tackett is also accused of stealing a vehicle in Floyd County and burning it prior to breaking into the food pantry.

He was lodged in the Pike County Detention Center on multiple charges, including second degree burglary, assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, fleeing police on foot and vehicle theft.
