A Johnson County man is behind bars after he allegedly ran from police twice last night.
According to the arrest citation, state police attempted to stop a vehicle for excessive speed around 11:15pm Monday on US 23 in Wittensville. The vehicle then turned on Kentucky 1559, crossing the center line numerous times. The chase finally ended after the truck drove through a yard of a residence on Puncheon Creek, going thru a field and then coming to rest in a creek.

Troopers say the driver of the truck, 37-year-old Homer D. Castle, then fled on foot. When the trooper caught up with Castle, he allegedly fought with the trooper before being placed under arrest.
The trooper noted Castle appeared to be under the influence, and was driving on a suspended license.
Castle is facing nine charges including DUI, resisting arrest, reckless driving, and fleeing and evading police both on foot and by vehicle.
He was also wanted by police for meth related charges in an unrelated case.
He remains lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center.
