PAINTSVILLE, Ky. — An Eastern Kentucky man facing fraud and theft charges in at least seven cases has been sentenced in one case and is scheduled to enter a plea in another next month.
Robert Lincoln Williamson II, 54, who is listed in court records as having lived at various addresses in Pike and Johnson counties, pleaded guilty to credit card fraud earlier this year. On May 22, he was sentenced to five years in prison.
According to 24th Circuit Commonwealth’s Attorney Matt Runyon, the charge stems from Williamson agreeing to perform work on a Johnson County woman’s home. The woman gave Williamson her credit card to buy materials for the project, but he used it to buy numerous personal items instead.
“Theft offenses, particularly those that target elderly and vulnerable individuals in our communities during their most difficult times, will not be tolerated,” Runyon said. “This sentence reflects the serious consequences for that type of criminal behavior and reinforces that such actions will be taken seriously by our office.”
Williamson also has active theft indictments in six other cases in Pike, Floyd, Johnson and Boyd counties. He is scheduled to enter a plea in a Floyd County case involving the theft of more than $10,000 on July 2.
He is currently being held in the Pike County jail.
