HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The 2026 schedule is set for Marshall Softball, with the Herd scheduled to host 18 games at Dot Hicks Field this spring. Head Coach Morgan Zerkle announced the team’s complete slate Tuesday with opening day coming from Tallahassee, Florida on Feb. 6.
“I am excited to see Marshall Softball compete against some of the best teams in the country and feel prepared for another season of competitive Sun Belt play,” said Coach Zerkle.
The challenging 2026 calendar begins with a showdown against Florida State on Feb. 6 and extends to early season trips to the University of Florida and Liberty in the opening month. The Herd will face 10 NCAA Tournament teams from a season ago – including the aforementioned three who advanced to Super Regionals.
The team’s fourth season in the Sun Belt Conference includes home weekend series with Georgia Southern, App State, South Alabama, and JMU. Marshall will travel to the league’s regular season champions from 2025, Texas State, the tournament champions, Coastal Carolina, as well as Georgia State and Louisiana.
The 2026 Sun Belt Conference Softball Championship will be May 6-10 from Lafayette, La.
