FRANKFORT, Ky. — Two mountain lawmakers will be serving as chairmen of two legislative panels when the state legislature meets next month.

District 97 Rep. Bobby McCool, of Van Lear, will serve as chairman of the Budget Review Subcommittee on Postsecondary Education, while 92nd District Rep. John Blanton, of Salyersville, will chair the Transportation Committee.

The legislature’s 30-day odd-year session begins Jan. 3.
