PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Michigan man has been sentenced for his role in a Magoffin County meth and fentanyl trafficking conspiracy.
Marvin Hunter Jr., 32, of Pontiac, Mich., pleaded guilty back in May to a single count of conspiracy to distribute meth and fentanyl, in exchange for three other charges being dismissed. In his plea agreement, he admitted to regularly transporting meth and fentanyl from Michigan to Magoffin County from 2021 to 2024.
During a hearing in Lexington federal court on Thursday, Hunter was sentenced to 132 months in prison.
The sentence brings to a close a case that saw two other defendants also sent to prison. Minnie Johnson, 61, and Jennifer Fletcher, 45, both of Salyersville, were each previously sentenced to 84 months in prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy.
