PIKEVILLE, Ky. — A Virginia sex offender currently in federal prison after pleading guilty to exchanging nude pictures with a Floyd County, Ky., boy, has been denied early release.

Earnest Bradley Hall, 50, of Saltville, Va., was sentenced to 15 years in prison, after pleading guilty to receiving child pornography in 2014.

In August, Hall asked to be released from prison early, due to concerns that his high blood pressure and obesity make him more susceptible to COVID-19. He also said he needed to take care of his mother, who is battling lung cancer.

However, the judge found that he had not established compelling reasons for release and denied the request.
