Harlan County, KY — A group of coal miners are showing their frustration with Blackjewel LLC in Harlan County. The miners and their families are apparently blocking the railroad tracks preventing coal from leaving Coverlick Mine 1. This particular mine belongs to Revelation Energy LLC. Revelation Energy LLC and its affiliate Blackjewel LLC filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on July 1st. Since that time, the Blackjewel miners have worked without pay. The protest is the miner’s way of showing they want the money they’ve earned. No injuries have been reported at this time as the protest continues.
