CHARLESTON, W.Va. — A Mingo County man faces at least 15 years in prison after pleading guilty to federal child porn charges.

Cameron Drake Newsome, 25, of Williamson, pleaded guilty Jan. 3 to one count of producing child pornography. In doing so, he admitted to using his cell phone to take two photographs of a 3-year-old’s genitals. He also admitted to storing those pictures in an online account where he had stored numerous other child porn photos and videos.

In exchange for his plea, prosecutors have agreed to drop two charges of possessing child porn.

Newsome will now face a sentence of between 15 and 30 years in prison when he is sentenced in April. He is currently being held in the South Central Regional Jail, in Charleston.
